The centrifuge is designed to separate heterogeneous liquid systems with a density of up to 1.85 g/cm3 in the field of centrifugal forces and determine the mass fraction of fat by the acid-butyrometric method (Gerber method) in milk and milk processing products according to GOST 5867, milk according to GOST ISO 19662 (Standard of the Republic of Belarus) and GOST R ISO 2446, in dairy products for baby food according to GOST 30648.1, cheeses and processed cheeses according to GOST R 55063, in butter and butter paste according to GOST R 55361. The method is based on the separation of fat from milk and dairy products under the action of concentrated sulfuric acid and isoamyl alcohol, followed by centrifugation and measurement of the volume of released fat in the graduated part of the fat meter (butyrometer).
